Hospice care is about more than medical support—it’s about heart, connection, and the simple comfort of knowing you’re not alone.
At Buckeye Hospice and Palliative Care, our Volunteer Services are designed to bring warmth, companionship, and meaningful moments to patients and their families during a time when compassion matters most.
Our specially trained Buckeye Hospice and Palliative Care volunteers are a cherished part of our care team. Each volunteer brings unique gifts—whether it’s a listening ear, a comforting presence, a shared hobby, a favorite story, or quiet companionship. Their role is never clinical. Instead, it is deeply human—offering support rooted in kindness, dignity, and respect for every individual we serve.
Volunteers may visit with patients, read aloud, play music, assist with light household tasks, or simply sit in peaceful silence when that is what brings comfort. For families, volunteers can provide short breaks from caregiving responsibilities, allowing loved ones valuable time to rest, recharge, or take care of personal needs. Some volunteers also assist with administrative support or special Buckeye Hospice and Palliative Care programs, helping ensure families feel supported in every way.
Every volunteer completes specialized training to understand the unique needs of hospice patients and their loved ones. They are guided by compassion, confidentiality, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
Whether sharing stories, holding a hand, or offering support to caregivers, our volunteers help make each day a little brighter. Their presence reminds families that they are supported, valued, and surrounded by a community that cares deeply.
