Tax Preparation in Cape Coral for Individuals and Businesses
One of the cornerstones of our work is preparing tax returns. Whether you're an individual or a business, domestic or foreign, St. Clair Advisory Group handles your preparation needs from our office on Cape Coral Parkway.
Returns We Prepare
- Individual and joint returns, including returns with rental properties, investments, and self-employment income
- Business returns for LLCs, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations
- State returns for clients with income in more than one state
- Returns for foreign individuals and entities with U.S. income (see nonresident returns)
- Estate and trust returns (see estate and trust tax)
Timely and Accurate Reporting
Returns require both honest reporting and efficient filing. Missing a deadline makes it more likely you'll hear from the IRS or owe penalties and interest. That risk is higher for business returns and for returns involving foreign individuals and entities, which carry extra filing requirements. We prepare returns in a punctual, methodical way to keep you compliant.
Aiming for Your Success
When we prepare a return, we look for every deduction and credit you qualify for and may have missed in past years. That keeps the return accurate and helps you get the best result the law allows. Every return goes through a detailed questionnaire, computerized error checks, a manual review by trained staff, and a final review by the consultant assigned to you.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
- Last year's federal and state returns (for new clients)
- W-2s, 1099s, and any K-1s you've received
- Records of deductible expenses, charitable gifts, and estimated payments made
- For rental or business income: income and expense totals, or access to your bookkeeping
- Any letters you've received from the IRS or the state
Bringing everything to the first meeting is the fastest way to a finished return. You can also upload documents securely through our Canopy client portal.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to prepare my return?
Most returns are finished in 2 to 3 days once we have everything we need. Complex returns can take longer. If you bring all your documents to the first appointment, your preparer may be able to finish the return that day.
Do you prepare business returns as well as personal returns?
Yes. We prepare returns for LLCs, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations, and we can handle the owner's personal return at the same time so the two stay consistent.
Can you fix mistakes on a return I filed myself?
Yes. If a prior-year return missed income, deductions, or credits, we can review it and file an amended return where it makes sense.
Are your preparers paid by commission?
No. Our tax professionals are not paid on commission, so the only goal is an accurate return.
